Shalana Jones-Hunter was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on 12 October 1959 – her zodiac sign is Libra, and she holds Dominican nationality. She is a businesswoman known as Tokyo Toni, who might be known best as the mother of the social media star and TV personality Blac Chyna.

Childhood and education

Tokyo was raised in Santo Domingo alongside her siblings by her father who was a mailman, and her mother who was a seamstress.

Tokyo was urged by her parents to focus on her education, and she spent most of her time studying and preparing for her tests, while she only became interested in other things upon enrolling at a local high school. She and her best friend decided to try out their acting skills and thus joined the school’s drama club, and although Tokyo’s friend made her way into the film industry, Tokyo wasn’t as talented. She continued her education, and upon matriculation in 1977 enrolled at a college from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1981.

Tokyo’s career

Tokyo worked several jobs to financially support herself after graduation and in 1991, she decided to join the US Army. Upon returning from the Army, she worked for various companies before founding her own talent firm On My Grind Entertainment and Promotions LLC in 2014, of which she is today the CEO.

Tokyo is also a TV personality, as she’s appeared in four TV series covering her daughter’s life. In 2016, she appeared in the episode “Rob & Chyna Baby Special” of the family series “Rob & Chyna”, which aired seven episodes but received only negative reviews, and in 2019 Tokyo was cast to appear in nine episodes of the reality TV series “The Real Blac Chyna”, which follows both private and business life of Blac Chyna.

The same year saw Tokyo appear in the episode “Eva Marcille/Tokyo Toni/Kim Fields” of the music talk-show “The Real”, and her latest appearance has been in six episodes of the reality TV series “Tokyo Toni’s Finding Love ASAP!”

Love life and relationships

Tokyo was in a relationship with the criminal Eric Holland, who is Blac’s father – they dated for several years but are no longer close – Tokyo is today also a grandmother as Blac gave birth to two of her children Dream Kardashian and King Cairo – King Cairo’s father is the popular rapper Tyga while Dream’s father is the reality TV star Rob Kardashian.

In 2012 Tokyo married Marcellus Hunter after the two dated for over a year.

Tokyo hasn’t talked about any other men she might have been with, so as of November 2020, she is married and has one daughter.

Hobbies and other interests

Tokyo likes to put on layers of make-up, which is why many people on the internet have claimed that she looks disgusting and unnatural – it has also been reported that she has undergone several plastic surgery processes, which have apparently worsened her appearance rather than improved it.

Tokyo likes summer as she enjoys sun tanning, relaxing at the beach and drinking cocktails, and she likes to travel and has been all around the USA for both work and pleasure, while she has also been to France and England in Europe.

In her spare time, she likes to watch reality shows on TV, such as “The Bachelorette”, “American Idol” and “Top Chef”.

Tokyo is a shopaholic as she goes shopping for clothes nearly every day.

Blac grew up focusing on her education, and upon matriculation in 2006 started working as a stripper in Maryland, to subsequently pay for her college tuition at Johnson & Wales University, located in Miami.
