Grew up in Bishopbriggs in the northern part of Greater Glasgow, Huntley attended Bishopbriggs High School.

Following high school, she proceed to the University of Glasgow where she attained a degree in politics and economics.

Her journalism journey began in the university station’s Subcity Radio, she then joined a local community radio company (OnFM) in London while there Huntley took a postgraduate diploma in broadcast journalism from the London College of Communication.

After growing interest in weather reporting at BBC Scotland, she took a short meteorology course at the Open University.

Following the course, Huntley joined STV Glasgow channel in June 2014, presenting weather forecasts.

As of 2015, Huntley has been involved in three shows on British terrestrial television, the seasonal CBeebies show, Down on the Farm, and The Wright Stuff.

Storm Huntley is married to the lead singer of the rock band The LaFontaines  Kerr Okan.
