Paul, a father of two daughters, is an army veteran and notorious rapist and killer. He killed at least 7 young African American ladies, all within the span of six years. He is one of America’s most notorious criminals. Paul is also known as the “Jacksonville Strangler” for his reputation for raping and strangling his victims in the Jacksonville area.
Paul Durousseau Biography
Paul was born in Beaumont, Texas on August 11, 1970. Very little information is available about his childhood and formative years. He joined his mother’s parents in Los Angeles when his father abandoned them – although they never married.

Between 1997 and late 1998, Paul was caught in possession of some stolen items and court-martialed by the US Army in 1999, then later dishonorably released from the US military. After his discharge from the U.S. Army, Paul and Natoca moved to Florida, where they settled and had two daughters. There he found it very difficult to keep a job and it greatly affected his family’s income, so much so that he often got into violent fights with Natoca.
In September 2001, after a series of internal abuse issues with his wife, when she discussed the divorce petition against him, Durousseau was finally arrested by the police and spent nearly a month and a half in custody. on sight for domestic battery.
After his release from prison, Paul worked several jobs to make ends meet as a school bus driver and taxi driver; he is widely believed to have met some of his victims through the latter employment.

1. Tracy Habersham (26)
Tracy had gone to a party in Fort Benning but unfortunately she didn’t return home. Her family reported her missing to the police and a few days later her naked body was found. Autopsy reports proved she had been strangled and raped. DNA samples taken from his corpse linked Durousseau to the death, although no one saw him with Tracy. Paul will later confess to having committed this crime when he is finally arrested.
2. Tyresa Mack (24)
In 1999, Tyresa’s body was discovered in her home after she had been raped and strangled to death. Neighbors confirmed seeing a man who matches Dorousseau’s description coming out of his building with a few gadgets. Paul was arrested and jailed for 30 days, then later released on 2 years probation.
3. Nicole L. Williams (18)
Nicole was reported missing on December 17, 2002; two days later, his dead body was found wrapped in a blanket and thrown into a ditch in Jacksonville.
4. Nikia Kilpatrick (19)
Pregnant Nikia was not seen or heard from by her family for a few days, so they visited her on January 1, 2003. She was found dead in her bedroom – raped and strangled; her two sons were also found alive in the apartment, but severely dehydrated and malnourished.
5.Shewanda McCalister (20)
Pregnant Shewanda was found dead in her apartment on January 9, 2003. She had been raped and strangled to death; A police report suggested that the scene of Shewanda’s murder was very similar to that of Nikia Kilpatrick, suggesting that the same killer was responsible for the death.
6. Jovana Jefferson (17) and Surita Cohen (19)
The bodies of Jovana and Surita were discovered very close to each other on February 5, 2003 in a ditch in Jacksonville. Witnesses around the area suggested seeing the two ladies with a taxi driver matching Durousseau’s descriptions before they disappeared.
Police arrested Paul Durousseau on June 17, 2003, and charged him with 5 counts of murder. Paul was sentenced to death on December 13, 2007 for the murder of Tyresa Mack. As of 2017, Paul was still on death row at the Florida Correctional Syndicate, as his death sentence was overturned by the Florida Supreme Court.
