After months of high anticipation, The Challenge Australia has officially kicked off thanks to Network Ten.

A spin-off from Road Rules and The Real World, The Challenge Australia features twenty-two of the nation’s most beloved reality stars together as they compete through a series of challenges for a cash fortune of $200,000.

Filmed in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the competition series will involve randomly paired challengers to battle in grueling physical contests, survival eliminations, cutthroat alliances, test strategies, and hook-ups to win daily tasks and survive the elimination.

The series premiered on Network 10 on November 14, 2022, and is hosted by sports commentator and television presenter Brihony Dawson. Here’s everything you need to know about the cast of the inaugural Australian season of The Challenge.

Male Contestants

Ciarran Stott

Ciarran Stott, 28, is best known for his stints on The Bachelor In Paradise, The Bachelorette Australia, and The Bachelorette Sweden.

The Manchester-born tattooed hunk is looking forward to taking home the prize money to set his family up for life. “Bad boy” from The Bachelor in Paradise, Stott, is popular for his charming personality, lean body, tattoos, and long, blond lion’s name.

Stott has earned himself quite the reputation when it comes to dating, with high profile and controversial hookups and separations. Last week, the reality star revealed that he recently made a decision to be sober after realizing the huge mistakes he makes come from the use of drugs and alcohol.

Ahead of The Challenge Australia, Ciarran stated, “I’m just going to go 100% for it and give it my all.”

Conor Curran

MasterChef Australia’s famed star Conor Curran is notable for his cocktails, ice cream, and rocking the single earring.

He possesses an undying love for traditional Greek recipes and enjoys creating an inclusive environment for all. Admitting he was hesitant at the beginning, the recipe developer and content creator joined The Challenge as a proud member of the LGBTQI member.

With a passion for travel, Curran often cooks with Greek techniques. He has worked mostly in South East Asian restaurants, lived in a Caribbean neighborhood for two years while in London, and spent time exploring Mexican and Middle Eastern cuisines.

Born and brought up in Melbourne, he credits his beloved grandmother with inspiring his love of food. Conor used his decade of working experince in Melbourne’s bustling and vibrant restaurants like a sponge, soaking it and ready to squeeze.

Grant Crapp

The winner of the first season of Love Island Australia Grant Crapp has returned as a contestant in one of the world’s most successful television franchises, The Challenge Australia.

Crapp’s motivation for joining the cast is to prove to himself that he can do it and hopes to set up his family financially. With a little daughter and another baby on the way, the entrepreneur struggled after being away from his family to record the series.

Grant grew up in Canberra, Australia, and studied at Marist College, Canberra. Having worked as an electrician, he now runs his own construction company “GDC Carpentry and Electrical” in Malua Bay.

“I actually found the mental strain of being away from home the hardest part,” he said.

Jack Vidgen

Australian singer Jack Vidgen, 25, rose to prominence after winning the fifth season of Australia’s Got Talent in 2011 as a teenager.

Since then, Jack has released hit songs, lived in America pursuing his career, and returned to television appearing on Eurovision Australia Decides, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out, The Voice Australia, and most recently The Masked Singer.

Vidgen is also the co-host of his popular iHeart Radio podcast “Hey Doll.” His debut single “Yes I Am” and a studio album of the same title came in August 2011 after signing a recording contract with Sony Music Australia.

Born to Steve Vidgen and Rachel Hayton, Jack performed at various events in Sydney, including Eisteddfod, the local Christmas carols, and Schools Spectacular, between 2007 and 2010. He also learned to play guitar and piano.

Konrad Bien-Stephen

Born and raised in Melbourne, Konrad Bien-Stephen appeared on television screens in the 2021 season of The Bachelorette Australia.

The cute carpenter from Victoria describes himself as an honest and loyal person who will not hesitate to “go to the ends of the earth” for those he loves and adores. As a contestant in The Challenge Australia, he is ready to battle hard for that cash prize.

Konrad says he’s a hopeless romantic, taking inspiration from his beloved parents, and has admitted to falling in love a little too easily. He offers his partner “honesty, adoration, love, laughs, loyalty, and a few headaches.”

David Subritzky

Fun-loving, joyous personality David Subritzly won the hearts of celebrities from the very moment he stepped into the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The young star is embarking on The Challenge Australia with his pleasing confidence and infectious aura. After sending his first 16 years growing up in the United Kingdom in Lancashire, he migrated to Australia with his family in 2012.

He then joined a private school in Brisbane to study Year 11 but struggled with the change and dropped the school after just three months and decided to work as Donut King. His boss “you’re good with the people, just not the donuts.”

“Tradie Dave” was born in 2013 when he started working with his father on a gas pipeline. After a year, he opted to take a year break and moved to the famous party town Ibiza. He then returned to Australia in 2015 and has since worked in various jobs on Melbourne and Gold Coast.

John “Johnny” Eastoe

A strong and likable contender, Johnny Estoe is known for his appearance in the 2019’s Australian Survivor: Champions v Contenders and Australian Survivor: AllStars.

A gold miner from Western Australia, John hopes that his determination will help him compete in The Challenge Australia. He is a tough and determined player, but also a bloke who wants to have a good time with his loved ones.

He was raised by his single mother and his grandmother in Footscray, Victoria. Later, he moved to Kalgoorlie to earn money in the mining industry. He just wishes to be a likable bloke and can make friends easily. “I am able to spot a snake in the grass,” John says.

Billy Dib

Born at Kogarah Hospital in Sydney, Billy Dib, 37, is a professional boxer. He was the IBF featherweight champion from 2011 to 2013 and the IBO super-featherweight champion in 2008.

Throughout his childhood, he has overcome racism, bullying, loss, and grief, to hold the title of two-time World Champion boxer. Billy has suffered from chronic asthma since birth and had to spend his first six months in an incubator fighting the ailment.

At age 12, Billy found boxing to overcome his condition. He then started boxing at the local Police and Community Youth Club. After emigrating to Australia from Lebanon, his parents ran a small greengrocer store in Engadine, where the boxer grew up.

Marley Biyendolo

Semi-professional basketball player, Marley Biyendolo was crowned winner of Big Brother Australia (also known simply as Big Brother) in 2021, beating out twenty other contestants.

The athlete owns his own business “Marley & Me Supports.” Markey works as a Psychosocial Recovery Coach and Disability Support Worker within his community. As a contestant in The Challenge, he hopes to take on new challenges and try to win another TV show.

Born and bred in Melbourne, Victoria, to his loving parents, Clotaire Buyendolo and Victoria Biyendolo, Marley attended Pepperdine University after completing high school at Cheltenham Secondary College. The Biyendolo family shares a string band and is very supportive of one another’s careers.

Troy Cullen

Carpenter by trade, Troy Cullen has appeared in three seasons (3, 4, and 5) of Australian Ninja Warrior. A grand finalist of two of the seasons, he is looking forward to claiming the crown as the winner of The Challenge.

As a strong competitor of the Ninja Warrior, Troy believes the experience has prepared him for his next challenges. He is excited about different obstacles for him to try and overcome in the show. “I think that’s so great about The Challenge.”

Troy’s biggest strength would be “I’m pretty well rounded, and I’m decent at puzzles and math.” He describes eating as his weakness and he might struggle to do the eating challenges.

Ryan Gallagher

Ryan Gallagher is widely known for his appearance in the 2018 season of Married at First Sight Australia. He successfully garnered the ultimate Aussie larrikin into the hearts of Australians nationwide.

Since his appearance in the reality show, the ‘comedian in training’ has toured various comedy circuits. Moreover, he romanced Charlotte Crosby on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! In Married at First Sight, Ryan was paired with Davina Rankin in 2018.

However, the comedian was left heartbroken after Davina cheated on him with fellow contender Dean Wells. He even had some choice words for his ex-wife after she arrived on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in January 2022.

Female Contestants

Brittany Hockley

Brittany Hockley is a well-known actress, reality TV star, presenter, radio host, podcaster, and author. Her acting credits include playing the role of Jade in the 2022 film Malibu crush.

She is also known for her appearance in Bachelor in Paradise (2020), Have You Been Paying Attention? (2018), and The Bachelor Australia (2018). He participated in The Challenge to compete outside of her comfort zone and experience adventure on the other side of the world.

Hockley and her colleague and friend, Laura Byrne, have established and run the very successful podcast “Life Uncut.” In 2019, the podcast landed at number one in Australia. In December 2019, Apple named it the top 20 new podcasts of the year.

Audrey Kanongara

Stunning model Audrey Kanongara, 22, landed on the Australian screen as an Islander on Season 3 of Love Island Australia in 2021. She entered the villa on Day 21 and was a part of the first sever Casa Amor.

Audrey was eliminated from the island on Day 26. She signed up for The Challenge to prove to herself that she’s destined for greatness. She wants to show to anyone who underestimates her and looks forward to winning the show.

While the young model failed to find love on the acclaimed dating show, she revealed that she’s been dating her now-boyfriend for a year. The love birds began seeing each other after Audrey left the Love Island villa.

Brooke Jowett

A contestant of Australian Survivor (2016) and Australian Survivor: All Stars, Brooke Jowett has returned to the Australian screens as a competitive participant in The Challenge Australia.

Jowett is a qualified fitness expert and renowned media personality. Over the years, she established a strong social engagement, launched her activewear range JRSY, and became a professional Master HIIT Trainer.

She marks her biggest strength as her ability in building genuine relationships quickly. When she meets people she can immediately make them comfortable. Talking about her weakness, Brooke said, “I am a physical threat, which will put a target on my back.”

Brooke Blurton

In 2021 Brooke Blurton made history in Australian television as the first-ever bisexual and Indigenous Bachelorette.

A proud Noongar-Yamatji woman, Blurton has served as a youth and social worker. Most recently, the reality star launched a podcast and released her memoir “Big Move.” She believes in being herself in any situation.

She has explored her complex childhood in her memoir. Blurton struggled a lot after losing her mother and grandmother when she was just 11 years old. She further explains why she counts two pieces of jewelry (her nana’s engagement ring and watch) as her most adored possessions.

Cyrell Paule

The former healthcare assistant Cyrell Paule is known as the wild ‘Cyclone Cyrell’ Paule from Married At First Sight. She is now a proud mother and is settled down with her baby.

Joining the cast of The Challenger Australia the Sydneysider stated that her greatest accomplishment in life is becoming a mother to her kid. She is ready to surprise herself and others while taking over various challenges in the series.

She says, “My biggest weakness is also my strength – It’s my mouth!” Paule believes that competing in the show will lead her to explore new things that she’s never done. ‘I haven’t had that in a while since being a mum.”

Jessica Brody

Jessica Brody landed on Australian television as a contestant in Matt Agnew’s season of The Bachelor Australia. The tattooed beauty is a makeup artist, owns her own beauty business “Brody Beauty” and is a professional tattoo artist.

She is further known for her appearance on season three of Bachelor in Paradise Australi where she was connected with resident “bad boy” Ciarran Stott. Jessica has an impressive ability to keep calm under heavy pressure.

Brody is a fan of the US version of the franchise and is dedicated to preparing herself for strength training. Talking about her biggest strength, the reality star stated, “Probably my mental fortitude and ability to keep calm under pressure.”

Kiki Morris

Beautiful model Kiki Morris appeared on Australian screens as a participant in Richie Strahan’s season of The Bachelor Australia. She then joined the cast of Bachelor In Paradise 3.

The Australian model, make-up artist and influencer Kiki was wooed by Ciarran Stott to quit Bachelor In Paradise and made a go of their relationship on the outside. Unfortunately, the plan didn’t work out for them.

Signing up for The Challenge Australia, Morris is looking to prove her mental and physical strength. The model says, “I would have to say my biggest strength would have to be my social game.” She has good stamina and has taken on a holistic approach to her health.

Kiki is someone who is extremely determined and wants to prove to all those people who doubt her ability that she is capable of winning.

Megan Marx

A well-known reality TV star Megan Marx has appeared on season four of The Bachelor Australia. She went on to join the cast of the inaugural season of Bachelor in Paradise.

She is an adventure lover and is ready to tackle The Challenge Australia. Megan has watched a few seasons of the US franchise of the competition series and thinks that would make her better prepared.

Megan is good at connecting with others and is not overconfident in her ability. A bit of a thrill-seeker, the reality star is looking forward to accepting various challenges and hopes to win the series.

Cherneka “Sugar” Johnson

Cherneka “Sugar” Johnson is a professional boxer who started her career in 20011. She has held the IBF junior-featherweight title since April 2022. She has attained a professional record of 14 wins and 1 loss in her career.

Born in New Zealand, Johnson holds Australian nationality and re[resents Australia on international platforms. She has amassed three major boxing titles, including the WBA Oceanic female bantamweight title in 2017.

In 2021, she and Shannon O’Connell competed for the WBA Gold female bantamweight title. Shannon won the fight via a split decision. Cherneka made her professional debut in 2016 fighting against Thailand Napaporn Ruengsuwan.

Emily Seebohm

Having appeared at four Olympic Games between 2008 and 2021, Emily Seebohm is a professional swimmer and television personality. Although she specializes in the backstroke, she has also won in the freestyle and individual medley.

Emily has amassed three Olympic gold medals, seven Commonwealth Games gold medals, and five world Championship gold medals. Viewers saw another side of the swimmer when she appeared in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

She won the hearts of her viewers with her compassion, realness, and humor. Emily has been a huge fan of The Challenger for a few years. Even since she watched the series, she wanted to be a part of it. She says, “I love anything that makes me push myself”

Suzan Mutesi

Originally from Uganda Suzan Mutesi is a Ugandan-Australian model, actress, content creator, author, and fashion designer. On The Challenger Australia, she is looking forward to showing her endurance and authenticity.

Upon moving to Australia, Suzan completed her high school at Delany College, Granville. She attended Australia’s top-ranked design college “Raffles KvB Institute of Technology and obtained a Bachelor of Design with a major in Fashion.

As an actress, she is known for her appearance in Heart Break High, Shang-Chi, the Legend of the Ten Rings, Ruby’s Choice, Moon Rock For Monday, and Deadly Women. Additionally, Suzan won the Fashion icon award at the 2014 African Australian Music and Movie award.

Who Has Been Eliminated From The Challenge Australia?

Here’s everyone who has been eliminated from the inaugural Australian season of The Challenge so far.

After ending in the eliminating round with fellow contestants Cyrell Paule and Jack Vidgem, professional boxer Billy Dob and influencer Suzan Mutesi were sadly eliminated in the show’s first episode.

Suzan and Billy had to end their journey before it truly began. Nevertheless, the remaining twenty participants are looking forward to accepting new challenges and competing for the prize money.
