Matthew Louis Gaetz II is an American lawyer and politician who has served as the U.S. representative for Florida’s 1st congressional district since 2017. A Republican, he became one of the foremost congressional allies of President Donald Trump.
U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida eloped to Southern California, marrying his girlfriend Ginger Luckey on Saturday in a small ceremony on Catalina Island.
The controversial 39-year-old Republican, who is under investigation as part of a sex trafficking probe, announced the wedding on his personal Twitter page. He exclaimed “I love my wife!” along with a photo of them together — he in a sports coat, she in a white dress.
Luckey is known as the sister of Palmer Luckey, the founder of Oculus VR.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Luckey, 26, currently works at Apeel as an Analyst and Sales Operations & Enablement lead. Her profile states that she is currently attending Harvard Business school and working towards her degree in Sustainable Business Strategy.
Luckey obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Accounting from the University of California at Santa Barbara. The two allegedly met at a fundraiser at former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in March 2020.
