For another four years, Levy served as the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL), where he won two Grey Cup championships.

In addition to helping the Bills become one of the most successful American Football Conference (AFC) teams in the 1990s, Levy spent five seasons as the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Between 1990 and 1993, when he captained Buffalo to a Super Bowl victory in each of those four games, he made his greatest accomplishment.
With 11 postseason victories and four Super Bowl appearances, Levy ended his head coaching tenure with a great record.
Levy quit his coaching career in 1997 and began working as the general manager and vice president of football operations for the Buffalo Bills from 2006 to 2007.
He was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2001 and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 2021.
Later, he returned to coaching, leading the Bills through the 2007 season.
After his two-year contract with the Bills expired, Levy resigned his position as general manager for the second time.
