Martina Navratilova Was Unrecognizable After Plastic Surgery

When Martina Navratilova made her debut in the American version of Strictly Come Dancing, even her most devoted fans would have had trouble recognizing her following the plastic surgery she underwent before the show.

Her days as the tennis queen were long gone, and in their place were long blonde locks, a sequined ballgown, and a bright grin.

The tennis star’s hair had been cut short, and she had a muscular appearance back then. The 65-year-old hardly seems like she was just a teenager when she won Wimbledon for the first time in 1978.

1985 was the year when Navratilova started wearing spectacles, and she recalled that her vision had started to worsen the previous year, in 1984. She played tennis while wearing her spectacles for a good number of years.

Navratilova is one of the few professional tennis players that often compete in her sport while wearing sunglasses. Her spectacles had become a cultural symbol despite being successful before she started wearing them.
