Seven Dwarf Rings and Their Powers

Seven dwarf rings were given to dwarf lords after they were forged by Celebrimbor. Thr rings were presented to Durin’s Folk, Firebeards, Broadbeams, Ironfists, Stiffbeards, Blacklocks and Stonefoots.

There are a total of twenty rings ever made in the existence of Lord Of The Ring novel history. Nine rings were made for Men and seven for dwarves.

The seven rings were made for the seven strongest clans of the dwarves members. Three rings were distributed to Elves to secretly control them internally.

Finally, the one that controls all the rings that corrupts and put them under the control of Sauron to destroy and take over the whole world.

The seven rings that were the lesser Rings of Power which were given to Dwarfs, were forged by Celebrimbor. Later, Sauron disguised as Annatar and brought the rings to Dwarves.

The rings were worn by the Dwarf’s Lords. When Sauron tried to control dwarves through the One ring that he has forged and had a secret backdoor in every ring, he was unsuccessful.

The Dwarf turned out to be more resilient than the Men’s and were not turned slaves of Sauron by the malevolent magic of the Dwarven rings. But the ring helped them to collect their wealth.

The Lords used their rings to create their huge amount of treasure hoards. But the ring’s other powers, such as turning invisible were not available to them.

They were also immune to some of the other powers of the ring’s harmful side effects; one being submitted to Sauron’s will.

The reason for their resistance towards corruption is believed to be the dwarf’s natural hardiness that they are born, which resists the control of the dark force.

Though it is guessed that the ring also gave the wearer an increased lifespan and wealth. But it also increased greed in one’s heart which was the downfall of the dwarves.

Their hoards of wealth attracted the attention of Smaug the dragon. This led the dwarves to be exiled from their home and ruin their long existence and heritage.

During the battle with the dragon, the dragon consumed four rings out of the seven rings provided by Sauron. With only three rings remaining, they were collected by Sauron again.

Initially, he had only collected two rings. Later, he captured Thrain II, imprisoned him and tormented him in the form of a Necromancer. Finally relenting, Thrain II gave the ring.

Sauron later approached the Dwarves again with the promise to give the three rings if they can find the One ring. But they refused as they didn’t trust Sauron anymore.
