Inslee was a candidate for the Democratic nomination for president of the United States in the 2020 election, launching his campaign on March 1, 2019.
He suspended his campaign on August 21, citing extremely low poll numbers. Inslee has filed initial paperwork to run for a fourth term in the 2024 election but has not formally announced a run.
