A Russian TV host who speaks with John Harding claims that he might be executed in the video. Mr. Harding was captured in May when Ukrainian units he was fighting with at the Azovstal steelworks were forced to surrender. 

A British man who appears to be held captive by pro-Russian separatists in the self-declared Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) of eastern Ukraine has been shown in a video pleading for rescue from Boris Johnson.

According to the Foreign Office, his imprisonment is a cause for worry. In a video posted by a Russian journalist, Mr. Harding also states that if he could speak to his daughter one more time, he would tell her that he wished he had spent more time with her.

John Harding Ukraine Video Surfaced Over The Internet

A Russian journalist is seen in the video posted on the Telegram messaging app interviewing John Harding, a man in his 50s born in Sunderland.

He would ask Boris Johnson if you can help, if you can persuade President Zelenskiy, if you have the power to sway President Putin or the leader of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), please do. He says, implying that he might be sentenced to death.

Harding is thought to have been taken prisoner in May while fighting alongside the Azov Regiment, a unit of the Ukrainian National Guard, to defend Mariupol before they were forced to surrender following intense shelling.

His friends and family have confirmed to the BBC that he is the man in the video, and the Foreign Office is supporting his family.

Is John Harding Dead Or Still Alive After Being Captured?
