Harris the golfer started playing golf while at  The Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN. He went on to represent the Bulldog golf team while at the University of Georgia. English competed in the Stadion Athens Classic at UGA in May 2011 and Nationwide Children’s Hospital Invitational in July 2011 while he was still an amateur. Nevertheless, Harris became the third amateur to win Nationwide Children’s Hospital Invitational Tour.
