David Perron said he remembers watching Erik Johnson take the stage as the first overall pick of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and wonders what it’ll be like to hear his name also mentioned in front of the entire world of hockey.

But that dream didn’t come true that year, but the following year, in the 2007 NHL Draft, Perron finally got to feel what it was like when the St. Louis Blues announced his name in front of the hockey world as their 26th overall pick in the 2007 NHL Draft. He would later join the Edmonton Oilers in 2013, after spending six years with the Blues, David went on to play for the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Anaheim Ducks before joining the Vegas Golden Knights in 2017, where he was currently alternate captain.

David Perron – Biography

He was born on May 28, 1988 in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. There is no information available about his parents, siblings, early life, background or educational history online.

Career, Statistics

Perron started his career playing for Saint-Jerome Panthers appearing in 51 of his games, the following season he played 70 games with the Lewiston Maineiacs, scoring 39 goals and 83 points, during this time the Maineiacs participated in the Memorial Cup and won the President’s Cup.

His NHL career began in 2007 when he was drafted 26th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. After successful training at camp, he was able to play his first NHL game, and in November 2007 he scored his first career goal in the game against the Chicago Blackhawks, while his first NHL hat trick took place in November 2009, against the Vancouver Canucks.

The following day, he made his debut for the team scoring the only goal in a 4-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens. The following season, Perron recorded one of his lowest points in the league and was soon traded alongside the Adam Clendening to the Anaheim Ducks in 2016 in exchange for Carl Hagelin.

As a free agent for the Ducks, Perron in 2016 chose to return to his first club – St. Louis Blues. Back with the Blues, Perron recorded his third career hat trick and also scored 18 goals for 46 points in every game for the Blues. However, in 2017 he left the Blues for the second time after being exposed and was selected by the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft. He is currently the club’s alternate captain.

In 2007, David Perron signed a 3-year entry level contract with the St Louis Blues worth $2,755,000 with a base salary of $875,000. When the contract expired, he renewed his stay at the club signing a two-year deal worth $4,300,000 with a base salary of $1,800,000 in the first year and $2,500,000 in the second. year.
