Clare Balding Hearing: Is Clare Balding deaf?

English broadcaster, journalist, and novelist Clare Victoria Balding CBE was born on January 29, 1971.

Presenting for BBC Sport, Channel 4, and BT Sport at the moment, she formerly hosted the devotional show Good Morning Sunday on BBC Radio 2.

Balding was chosen to be the Rugby Football League’s 30th president and will hold the position through December 2022.

Balding’s health, specifically her hearing, has suffered some concerning setbacks as a result of her job as a radio and television announcer.

Is Clare Balding deaf? Though Clare Balding is not deaf, she has revealed that she has lost 90% of her hearing.

She made the revelation during an episode of Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable.

Clare further explained that that her hearing loss has gotten so bad that she frequently finds herself yelling at her wife Alice Arnold without realizing it.

As a trainee with BBC National Radio, Balding worked on 5 Live, Radio 1, Radio 2 and Radio 4 as well as presenting sports on the Chris Evans Morning Show on Radio 1.

She made her television presenting debut in June 1995 by introducing Royal Ascot’s highlights.
