She wanted to buy a few groceries she needed from the supermarket. The sister-in-law then called Young’s adult son, Damon Young, and informed him that she had dropped off Young at the store and that he would need to pick up his mom from there.
When Damon arrived at the supermarket shortly after a while, police and emergency vehicles flooded the parking lot. Damon was unaware of what was going on. They told him there was a shooting in the store, and he replied that he was there to pick up his mom.
Then he was directed to an area where they had identification for those who had identification on them. He was devastated when he learned his mother was shot in the store. The whole family was devastated knowing that Pearly was killed in the shooting.
