TJ Finley, the quarterback for the Auburn Tigers, is being held at the Lee County Detention Center on suspicion of attempting to flee the Auburn Police Department. As of Thursday, Finley was in custody, according to detention records.
After becoming the first college football player to sign a NIL agreement with Amazon to sell jerseys, hoodies, phone covers, and other products from his product line, Finely was arrested just a few days later.
In 2020, he started playing football for LSU. Finley moved to Auburn in 2021. For the 2022 season, Auburn has not yet selected its starting quarterback.

According to a report by WRBL-TV in Columbus, Georgia, Auburn quarterback T.J. Finley was being held at the Lee County Detention Center in Opelika, Alabama, on Thursday on a charge of attempting to flee the Auburn Police Department.

He played the Tigers’ final three games of the 2021 season after Bo Nix suffered a season-ending ankle injury. Finley completed 70 of 128 passes for 827 yards, six touchdowns, and an interception in nine games as a sophomore.
