Dave Roberts is a well-known American professional baseball manager and former player who serves as the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB) manager.
Over a ten-year successful career, he played for five MLB teams and coached for the San Diego Padres before being named Dodgers manager in 2016. He competed for the Boston Red Sox for one season. The former athlete batted and threw left-handed.

Dave Roberts was born to his father, Waymon Roberts, and mother, Eiko Roberts. Unfortunately, his loving father died in March 2017, at age 68, when the baseball manager was at the Dodgers’ camp in Arizona.
He left the camp and rushed to be with his family. Eiko is living with Parkinson’s disease. She is one of the thousands of San Diegans living with nervous system disorder. She was diagnosed with the disease eight years ago and lost her husband in 2017.
Eiko gets a lot of support and encouragement from the Parkinson’s Association of San Diego. However, she admits that most of her strength comes from her family, including her loving son, Los Angeles Dodgers manager.
Despite busy schedules, Dave keeps in touch with his mother. He also said that his mom is always at the forefront of his mind. Eriko always gets support from her children and grandchildren.
Meet Dave Roberts Father Waymon Roberts And Mother Eiko Roberts
Dave Roberts’s father, Waymon Roberts, was a United States Marine stationed in Japan when he met and married the love of his life, Eiko Roberts. His father grew up in Texas and was named in the Marines in 1969 as a teenager.
After four years of marriage, they welcomed their son, Dave, in 1972, in Okinawa, Japan. Waymon remained in the Marines until retiring as a Master Gunnery Sergeant in 1998. He transferred to different bases around the world during his service.
Dave spent his childhood moving from one military base to another in two to three-year sequence. He was born in Okinawa and moved to multiple bases in California, to Okinawa again, North California, Hawaii, and finally to California; the family eventually settled in San Diego.
He joined Vista High School as a freshman and was named the most valuable player on the junior varsity baseball team. Dave then transferred to Rancho Buena Vista High School the following year, becoming a standout in basketball, football, and baseball.

Dave Roberts is not the only child of his parents, Waymon Roberts and Eiko Roberts. He grew up alongside his sister, Melissa Roberts. Both have an excellent bonding with each other and often see each other.

He and former teammates Rich Aurilia and friends Noelle Micek and John have been partners in Red Stitch Winey, based in Cardiff, California, since 2008. Moreover, Dave is a Christian and often speaks about his faith.
