When it comes to the list of the top biggest banks with a vast customer base, Access Bank will be among the top five in Nigeria.

Access Bank, which commenced operations in the country in 1989 and owned by Access Bank Group, is a multinational commercial bank and has grown to become one of the leading banks in the banking sector.

The Bank further gained more prominence after its recent merger with Diamond Bank on 1 April 2019. It is now considered the largest bank in Africa.

Following its recent merger with Diamond Bank, the bank now has a new logo, a signal for the commencement of a new enlarged banking entity.

You can use the code to buy airtime for yourself as well as others. Apart from purchasing airtime, this same code can be used to transfer money to Access bank customers and other banks customer.

It also provides other services such as checking account balance, paying for bills, among others.

To make it easy for customers, Access Bank has a short code *901#, which is very easy to remember.

However, as an Access Bank customer, you need to enrol for this package before using it.

Below are the steps to follow to enrol;

To enrol on *901#, follow the steps below:

Dial *901# with the phone number that is linked to your bank account

It will come up with a list of options; you are to click on ‘Transfer.’

Then input the last six digits of your Debit Card number (You will be prompted to input your Date of Birth if you do not have an active debit card).

Enter your account number

Create a 4-digit PIN

Once this is done, you can enjoy the service.

Note that once you are using the code, the service session lasts for about 2 minutes and would time out after every 20 seconds if there is inactivity.

To buy Airtime to a registered phone number with access bank, all you need to do is dial *901*amount# from the number, for example: *901*500#.

However, if you want to recharge for others, dial *901*amount*phone number# example: *901*200*080*****#

Note that buying Airtime doesn’t come with extra charges on the platform.

How to transfer money 

To transfer money to other Access bank accounts, dial *901*1*AMOUNT*NUBAN Account Number#. The service attracts ₦20 charge.

To transfer from Access Bank to other banks, Dial *901*2*AMOUNT*NUBAN Account Number#. 

The service attracts ₦50 + ₦2.50 (VAT) charges

Also, note that there are limitations placed on the transfer of money. The maximum daily transfer limit is N100,000 that is N20,000 per transaction, while the daily maximum limit on airtime is N20,000
